  1. Michael, You described what happened perfectly, lol. I did what you did and reinstalled it and that fixed it. a night or two ago, there was another update available and like a sucker, I clicked on it. The same thing happened... here I go again to d/l and reinstall. I sure hope they get this fixed, it is very annoying. Chuck
  2. Hello, This morning, PDFElelment 7 wanted to do an update. In doing so it naturally wanted to shut down the currently open .PDFs. It stopped responding while shutting down the open .PDF and crashed, so I tried to open it several times and it wouldn't open. I rebooted my system thinking surely this would fix it not opening, but after rebooting PDFElement 7 will still not open. What do I need to do to get 7 working correctly on my system and operating again? I still have 6.x on my system and it seems to still be working fine. Thanks, Chuck
  3. Hello! Occasionally I am getting very small icons, and sometimes no icons (just the name only) when I am looking through my folders at .PDF files. I am unsure if this is a Windows problem or a PDFelement problem. My folders are all set to use large thumbnails. Sometimes when looking at folders I get all small icons and sometimes I get a mix of large and small icons for my .PDF files... it's really weird. Also, I am not sure but it may only be synced OneDrive folders and not other folders that only reside on my computer. I just wanted to post this to make you aware that there is some sort of issue going on and maybe see if anyone else with PDFelement has experienced this same issue. Thanks, Chuck

Updates reset .pdf to open with Edge...

Hi Heidi, Since I have reported on this last Nov, any update I do is still reassociating my .pdf files to open with the Edge browser rather than staying associated with PDFelement. You stated that you all were aware of the issue, yet to date, it hasn't been fixed. Has this issue been forgotten about? It is just very aggravating to have to go back after each update and reassociate the files. Thanks, Chuck
  5. The last several upgrades that I have installed, after the installation completes, my .pdf icons are reset back to open with the Edge browser rather than pdfelement as they were prior to the upgrade. I have to go back and set them to open with pdfelement through the 'Choose default apps by file type' settings. I just wanted to make you aware of this, as I am unsure why this is happening and was also wondering if anyone else was having this same issue. Thanks, Chuck
  6. Greetings! Wondershare has worked pretty much flawlessly since I have had it with the exception of two instances. A few months back it was crashing like this, but a restart of the computer cleared it up. All was fine until tonight. After a restart PDFelement started crashing upon launch. I tried several more restarts, but it is still not working. I get the PDFelement splash screen, followed by a dialog that states 'Wondershare PDFelement has stopped working' and it has a green progress bar in it. Then the green bar goes away and the dialog just sits there, and the program attempts to start, but it is just a blank white screen with a spinning cursor, and the title of the window reads: PDFelement 6 Professional (Not Responding). None of the dialogs are giving me a reason as to why it is crashing. I have attached captures of all of the dialogs that I described. Any help to get this resolved is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chuck CAD Group

    AutoCAD text issues...`

Heidi, Thanks for your reply! This does work, although I notice that this is not a setting that you can "save" so that the will open the next time with the annotations off. That would've been great if that would've worked that way, but I can't send out drawings to clients with annotations on. As for the "Save to PDF' from AutoCAD, that is not something you can do in AutoCAD like you can in Office, etc. In AutoCAD, the line weights of the objects in the drawing are controlled using a color table, which only works when you print a drawing using a printer driver and choose the correct color table to use on that drawing. Is there any way to permanently turn off the annotations? Or at least turn them off and have it hold that setting, so then I could send out a .pdf drawing it would open on the client end with the annotations turned off. Alternatively, we could delete them as you showed me how to do. That would be ok when you are working with a few sheets, but some of our sets have 60-80 sheets in them, so that would not be an option to have to delete all of those in each sheet. Sometimes we get .pdfs from others that we have to include in our sets and they have them locked, so we couldn't set those annotations to off in those files either. Thanks for your help, and any more ideas you may have! Chuck

    AutoCAD text issues...`

Here is an example of another .pdf file with a lot of text, and a lot of the "bubbles" I am referring to. This one was created by someone outside of our office (probably form an AutoCAD Civil package), but the results are the same as some of the ones I am having issues with.

    AutoCAD text issues...`

Greetings! I am having issues with .pfs made from AutoCAD. When I out of my AutoCAD application, certain fonts have little "bubbles" beside them (see attached .png). In this particular example, it is the 1-6 in the revision area of the title block. It is only doing this with certain fonts, as you will see in the example. If I hover my mouse over the numbers, I get a popup box that says AutoCAD SHX Text and has the corresponding number in it (see second.png). Sometimes on sheets with a lot of text, like a cover sheet, the entire sheet is just covered with these yellow bubbles. These screen captures are of a .pdf that was made using AutoCAD 2017 with the Wondershare PDFElement printer driver. Thanks for any help/advice on this issue. Chuck
