Saving password protected document, not a new copy

Question

This may have been discussed previously but I cannot find it in a search.

When I want to save a password protected document, PDFelement creates a new document with the word "copy" in its name. Is there some way to change this so that the document is protected and not create a new copy?

Hi Tax,

I understand your request. Since this is a feature request, so I moved here for better tracking and consideration.

Thanks for your advice.

So does this mean there is not currently a way to override this default?

I have a question on the same matter. I'm using PDFelement to fill out IRS forms electronically, switched from Adobe. There, I could download a form template from the IRS website or third-party tools like PDFfiller: w9.pdffiller.com open it in Reader, fill the fields and save. PDFelement saves a filled form as a new file since the last update, and I've got no clue for what purpose and this is kind of disturbing. Any workaround for this?

Hi Zain,

What version is it? We tested version 6.8.7 and it will not save a filled form as a new file.

Please let me know if you investigate more. Thanks~
